The Railgun is a

Whenever a rail slug is fired there is a maximum amount of enemies that the projectile may splash through. Enemy hits are counted from the closest to the furthest and each enemy can only be hit once.
Once the maximum hits is surpassed the projectile causes no further damage. Full damage is applied to each enemy hit.
